Enterprise VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)

We have found that our clients have many vendors handling their monthly IT maintenance. They pay and manage each of these vendors separately and each operates a small portion of their whole IT infrastructure. These vendors can be responsible for POTS lines, T1's, Local, Long Distance, Internet Connectivity, Web and eMail hosting , phone hardware, local wiring, to name a few.

Blue Robin believes that the old separation between Phone and IT is dwindling. From our perspective, it's ALL DATA, no matter if it's a phone call, video, an email, or a website. It's all data to us, and transporting this data is where we supercede all our competitors.

Blue Robin's Digital T1-Based Managed Telecommunications Service (T1-MTS) offers IP Phone systems, a local/long distance minutes bucket, Internet access, and web/email/database hosting services. This one-source full-service approach delivers to our clients’ business-class voice and data services (all in digital) that were accessible and affordable ONLY by the Fortune 500 and other large enterprises, until recently. It provides the best "bang for the buck" for all of your data and voice communications needs.

Our T1-MTS hosted phone service eliminates the need for a local analog PBX system and frees you from your costly burden of managing numerous voice and data services and vendors. Our client's current PBX is replaced with IP-based virtual PBX over private point-to-point true-digital T1 line or over a high-speed Internet connection. Redundant IP PBX servers, routers, and voice gateways located in carrier-grade facilities allow Blue Robin to provide clients carrier-class service at very low cost. Blue Robin assumes full responsibility for end-to-end communications, including the T1 connection (if elected through us), on-site router, virtual digital PBX, and all phones.

Blue Robin's T1-MTS service eliminates ALL the costs associated with our client's current ISP, phone, web hosting , local/long-distance calling, PBX services, etc. They have only one vendor and one bill to deal with - Blue Robin.

DEDICATED DYNAMIC T1 LINE
Blue Robin's unique T1-MTS is based on the dedicated dynamic T1 technology. It combines all voice and data services into one managed service providing 24 channels of data @ 1.5M. Compared to other T1 providers that offer Half & Half T1 (12 channels of voice & 12 channels of data), T1-MTS is designed for data. In our T1-MTS, data could be email traffic, a webpage download, a phone call, or a video conference; there is really no different from the digital stand-point. The Half & Half T1 treats voice separate from other data types creating a handicap. The Half & Half T1s are digital ONLY to the building and they are converted back to analog once inside - defeating the purpose of having a T. The true digital nature of T1-MTS ensures that phone usage does sacrifice Internet and web performance. The T1-MTS is trained to prioritize voice traffic over other non-mission critical tasks. So if you have 4 people on the phone and an 5th person picks up the line the Internet usage gets throttled back automatically to give you full access to the digital T1 at ANYTIME!

Unlike other providers, the T1-MTS does not use analog phone lines and does not require use of PBX system. And as such, it is expandable indefinitely. Since there is no PBX and no phone lines being used, there will NEVER be a busy signal, and even if all phones are in use, additional calls will be answered by the T1-MTS' virtual PBX system and routed to voice mail. In case of any natural disaster (i.e. lose of electricity), the virtual PBX will remain functional and all phone calls will be answered and directed properly. Phones can easily be configured (using the web portal or a phone call to our support bridge) to re-direct calls to ring on a cell phone, and/or ring simultaneously on two phones. All messages can be retrieved and heard over the Internet using the web portal as well as emailed to you as a wav file attachment and the caller id information paged to you.

PHONE NUMBERS & HOW IT WORKS
The biggest question we get is "Will I have to change my Phone number?" and the answer almost always is NO. Our client's keep their main phone numbers (fax and voice) and we point them to our service. Blue Robin also supplies and programs each IP-phone with its own direct dial number by default. This provides each user with a direct line and a four digit internal extension which would be the last four digits of the assigned phone number. For example, if someone is looking for an employee at a client of ours, they can call his/her number directly and they don't have to go through an auto-attendant or a receptionist (if it is so desired). These direct dial numbers can either be a re-assignment of your existing sub phone numbers or new, local, sequential phone numbers that we can provide in most all markets.

All of the incoming phone calls will ring to the virtual PBX or wherever they are calling independent of how many times each number is called. No inbound phone call will EVER receive a busy signal. So, if 20 people call our client's main line at once, and if each the first 10 calls are answered or directed as the caller chooses, no roll-over lines EVER be needed and the system can handle another 10 more calls and so on as there aren't any concept of lines to tie one phone number to. The PBX system will still be VERY functional under heavy phone load since it lives in our hardened data center on machines that are robust enough to handle thousands of incoming and outgoing phone calls simultaneously.

Faxing can be handled two ways. One is as it is today through one fax machine and one fax line. The other alternate is to take the incoming faxes and email them accordingly, and supply a separate fax number for each employee (if so desired) or broadcast the fax to everyone's email. Our clients may email out faxes and ALSO use the stand-alone fax machine if needed (depending on how faxes should be handled).

All outbound caller-id(s), including the fax line(s), can be configured and any call can be identified as our client's main phone number, or display the secondary numbers (the system is flexible, and can be programmed to meet their business requirements).

Most of the configurations can be refined by our client's authorized staff using web-based admin panel. If so needed, Blue Robin's technical support team is happy to handle any/all of such requests.

In the future, as our clients hire new employees, all that is needed is a new IP phone and an Ethernet jack. One phone call from an authorized administrator will get Blue Robin to program an IP phone and send it to our clients. Our clients' plug it into the Ethernet jack and a new employee with a new direct-dial number and extension is ready to dial.

All phones are portable. As such, so long as they get connected to the Internet, they should remain fully functional on our client's network . For example, any employee can take a phone home, connect it to the Internet, and stay in contact as if s/he is in the Waltham office.
